JS James Suckling: 91 Points
Pretty nose of potpourri, lavender, cherries, purple plums and spice box. It’s full-bodied and creamy with a firm tannin frame. Nicely spiced. Better after 2024.
WA The Wine Advocate: 91 Points
The 2021 Don Nicanor Malbec was produced with grapes from Valle de Uco and Luján de Cuyo in similar proportion, fermented with selected yeasts and with 60% of the wine matured in oak barrels for 12 months. It has contained ripeness at 14.5% alcohol and is juicy and peachy, with black fruit (cassis, blackberry) and herbs. It is more serious, perhaps with a more reductive personality, with good concentration, tension and balance. Modern, very good value and a traditional name.
