Aromas leap out of the glass in an explosion of passionfruit, grapefruit, white fleshed nectarines and notes of nettle and jalapeno pepper. This is a beautifully vibrant and juicy Sauvignon Blanc made in the quintessentially Marlborough style. The palate shows concentrated flavors of citrus, passionfruit and lemongrass. It has a nice texture with a firm backbone of juicy acidity.

Jules Taylor happily admits that she had no ambition to become a winemaker - but things change. Her first job was working at one of Marlborough’s original custom wineries, Vintech, and work continued with vintages in Piedmont, Sicily, Australia and Cloudy Bay, before taking a permanent job at Marlborough Valley Cellars. It was here that she came across the three people that were to be her mentors, Kim Crawford, Simon Waghorn and Matt Thompson. It was they who encouraged her to launch her own label in 2001.

Pear, lemon and yuzu flavors are precise and fresh in this white, with plenty of focus to its accents of lemon verbena and vetiver. Offers hints of toasted green tea and dried ginger on the crisp finish.

Leaning on the green veg side of the fence, this is a bombastic-yet-harmonious combo of freshly sliced green bell pepper, string bean, seashell, lime granita and passion fruit aromas. There’s lively acidity and some lovely texture to boot.
