Lots of white peach and sliced green apple with some grapefruit. Medium body. Tangy fruit and a fresh, creamy finish. Two-thirds sauvignon blanc andone-third sauvignon gris.

The 2021 Puygueraud Blanc contains more Sauvignon Gris this year because the Sauvignon Blanc was touched by frost. Cropped at 31 hL/ha September 17-27, it has a well-defined nose of Granny Smith apples, gooseberry and nettle; an underlying petrichor note emerges with aeration. The palate is actually more complex than the nose suggests, delivering lime and Conference pear flavors and pleasant weight imparted by the Sauvignon Gris. There’s a touch of spice on the finish. Worth hunting down.
